Appeals Update
Effective January 1, 2021, all county court decisions in criminal cases and most decisions in civil cases will be appealed to the district courts of appeal. For more information, please visit the Know Your Court webpage.
For information on how to file an appeal, you may either contact an attorney or research the Florida Statutes and Florida Rules of Court. Most legal forms may be purchased from an office supply or stationery store. The Florida Bar and Supreme Court websites contain additional information regarding the appeal process.
You may E-file the Notice of Appeal through the Portal. Appeal processing fees must be paid at the time the Notice of Appeal is filed with the Clerk’s office. The fees are:
The only time the appeal processing fees are not required is if the Court has entered an order to waive the fees or declared the appellant indigent.
In the event the judge requires a hearing, all parties will be notified.
